On Day 4 of our trip, we went to Salvador. I took this picture at the Church of San Francisco. This is a really neat church that sits atop a hill. On the way there, the bus stalled while going up hill and started rolling backwards into oncoming traffic. Apparently, the bus driver wasn't so great at stick shift.
Inside there are wax moldings of people's "prayers" and offerings. Inside, we saw wax moldings of baby heads, limbs, and even private parts. Very strange. But the church, as you can tell from the outside, was not absurdly ornate or decorated like other churches. It was beautiful and simple. Humble...
